Saint Gregory Return to School Plan

Updated February 24, 2022

Saint Gregory School has updated our “Return to School Plan” as the response to Covid- 19 continues to evolve. Beginning, Monday February 28th, Saint Gregory School will begin transitional steps.

Arrival 8:15- 8:30

The arrival procedure will continue with parents dropping off students at the back door (where a staff member will assist) or east side door (where a staff member is located). This process has kept the parking lot and the road entrance free from congestion. Students arriving after 8:30 (unless transported by bus), will be marked tardy. After 8:30, all students must enter the front doors. We ask that cars remain in line and do not pass other cars for the safety of our students.

Masking

While in classrooms at assigned seats students will not be required to wear masks. During lunch, outdoor recess and socially distanced activities students will not be required to wear masks. During centers or small group activities where groups of students work together in close proximity, Saint Gregory School will require students to wear masks. During large group transition times where students are in close proximity, students will be required to wear a mask. School staff will follow the same protocols with the option of masking at all times while in a classroom environment or working with students.

The Covid cases in the school population and within the county will be monitored and after 2 weeks on March 11th, if the trend decreases, we will then move to a “mask optional” school environment. If the school cases increase or the county data shows an increase, we will return to a masking environment. We are asking that all students continue to bring their own personal masks to school. If a student does not have a mask the school will provide one.

Daily Cleaning

Classroom desks will be sanitized daily. All students will be encouraged to wash / or sanitize hands frequently.
